We flip the script on philanthropy.
Let’s be honest: the traditional donor-grantee dynamic is outdated. It’s extractive, awkward, and built for control—not transformation. The NextStep Philanthropy Framework (NSPF) changes the game by flipping the flow: local organizations lead with vision, donors are invited into co-creation, and the relationship ends with dignity—not dependency.
This isn’t a theory. It’s a tested method for building regenerative, time-bound partnerships that put power and purpose at the center.
Let’s break it down:
Our Five-Step Journey
Each partnership moves through five deliberate stages, guided by TELEP and powered by transparency, learning, and mutual respect.
1. Vision Anchoring (Led by the Organization)
“Start with clarity, not compliance.”
Local organizations begin by crafting a bold Vision Deck—a strategic narrative that articulates their long-term goals, systemic leverage points, and what success looks like with or without funding.
We support them with:
A storytelling and systems-thinking toolkit
Optional coaching to refine the vision
A Systemic Influence Map to connect vision to ecosystem shifts
The result? A compelling starting point that attracts the right kind of funders—those who listen, not lecture.
2. Donor Curation and Invitation
“Not all money is good money.”
We work with local organizations to identify philanthropists who align with their values, mission, and way of working. Donors do not apply. They’re invited, onboarded, and assessed—just like any other strategic partner.
Each donor completes:
A Values & Vision Alignment Self-Check
A Power & Risk Reflection Tool
An Exit Readiness Profile
The goal: fit, not flattery.
3. Co-Creation of a Living Partnership
“We don’t fund projects. We design journeys.”
Once both sides agree to move forward, TELEP facilitates a co-creation process where the partnership is mapped out. Together, the organization and the funder draft a Living Partnership Agreement, which includes:
Shared vision and milestones
Roles (financial + non-financial)
Storytelling and visibility plans
Embedded learning moments
Exit strategy and legacy intentions
This isn’t a contract. It’s a shared compass.
4. Implementation with Embedded Learning
“Learning is the deliverable.”
The organization leads the work. The donor plays their defined role. TELEP remains present as a support hub, offering:
Real-time coaching and reflection prompts
A digital learning dashboard
Access to peer communities
Storytelling support (because impact deserves an audience)
We track changes not just in metrics, but in systems, relationships, and narratives.
5. Exit as a Legacy Move
“Goodbyes should be generous.”
We don’t do ghosting. Every NSPF journey ends with intentional closure. We facilitate a graceful exit that celebrates progress, shares lessons, and ensures continuity.
Key elements include:
Final learning and storytelling deliverables
Exit Strategy Canvas (completed together)
Optional transition grants or successor introductions
Post-exit roles for donors (if desired): connector, amplifier, silent cheerleader
You leave a legacy. Not a vacuum.
How TELEP Supports the Process
We’re the orchestra conductor, not the soloist. TELEP doesn’t fund projects—but we make sure the right people fund the right visions the right way.
We provide:
Templates and toolkits (Vision Decks, Exit Canvas, Storytelling Kit)
Matchmaking and due diligence support
Coaching for both parties
Peer learning circles and community showcases
Public storytelling opportunities (TEDx-style, articles, interviews)
